After the M9 earthquake and the 10m-high Tsunami hit, it was catastrophic in the disaster area. All the lifeline utilities; electricity, gas and water were cut off, and it was a situation where urgent relief actions were needed for the sufferers. Since Shinei’s water purification devices were designed with consideration for use in emergency, the devices had advantages; Easy mobility, Operable without electric power, and Simple to use - that enabled the people to use immediately right after the devices were arrived at the sites.

The water to clarify was sourced from a swimming pool at a primary school where people were evaluated. Although the sourced water was dirty and colored green with moss as it was in early spring when the swimming pool was not in use, the water turned clear and colorless when the water clarification device pumped up the water through its filter. The people could start using the cleaned water immediately.
When it comes to water needed at evacuation sites, what we can come up with first is drinking water. However, what we face at actual sites is that securing water for daily life is also crucial.
