Yabusame Horseback Archery at Asakusa Sumida-koen Park | Apr. 20. 2019

Yabusame is the art of shooting arrows on horseback, performed as a traditional ceremony that derives from horse riding exercises for Samurai Warriors.


The Yabusame begins at 1:00 PM in Sumida-koen park near Kototoi-bashi bridge. A pre-ceremony starts from 11:45AM at Sanyabori-hiroba place in Sumida-koen Park (near the Taito-ku Riverside Sports Center)

Location: Sumida-koen park at the Sumida riversice, Asakusa, Tokyo 

The Yabusame site will be crowded with many audiences. No selfie photographing is allowed. Purchasing an advanced ticket to get a paid sheet is recommended. The ticket is 3000 JP Yen per person, available at Sumida City Hall and Asakusa Tourist Information Center (In front of Sensoji temple)

The pre-ceremony at Sanyabori-hiroba place is for free for any audience. No paid sheet will be provided.
