VARIVAS Cup 2021 Tuna Fishing Competition at Sagami Bay

Organized by SPORTS NIPPON NEWSPAPERS, this fishing competition will be held on August 29 at Sagami Bay in Kanagawa prefecture. The Sagami Bay is favored with good fishing spots, where fishing lovers gather to catch big tuna.

The competition will take place on the two boats: Okiemon Maru (from Chigasaki) and the Shozaburo Maru (from Hiratsuka). The participant who catches the heaviest tuna will be the winner. The entry will be closed when the number of registrants reaches the limit.

Venue:
Shozaburo Maru (from Hiratsuka). Okiemon Maru (from Chigasaki)
Reception starts at4:30AM

Number of entries: up to 160 participants (80 for each)
Fishing area: Sagami Bay
Target: Tuna fish

Entry fee: 14000 JPY/person (including 12000 JPY for boat ride)
*Ground‐bait fee excluded.
Cancel fee will be charged in case of cancelation on the competition day.

Rules
(1) Seats will be determined by lot on the day of the competition.
(2) Departure: 6:00 a.m.
(3) Return: 1:00 p.m.
(4) Time limit: 30 minutes after a hit.
After the time limit past, you may take the tuna on to the boat, but the tuna will be out of judgment.
Bluefin tuna must be released. Bluefin tuna are out of judgment.
Judgment: by weight of single fish.
