The highlight is the parade of people in Samurai and Geisha costume.

Shinagawa Old town Festival


A festival held in Shinagawa, a town formerly known as a post station (Shukuba) sitting on Route Tokaido leading from Tokyo to Kyoto. During the festival, various events will take place around Kitashinagawa station and Seiseki-koen areas, such as a parade of people in Edo-period costume (Samurai etc.), Taiko drum performances, and Oiran Douchu (a kind of runway walking of women in gorgeous Kimono dress)

Night parade of Oiran Douchu (Starts from near the Yatsuyama Exit of Kitashinagawa Station on the Keikyu Line)

From 12:00 : Parade in Kimono costume (Starts from the point Near Kitashinagawa station on the Keikyu Line)
From 13:00(1:00PM) : Fire Walking at Honsenji Temple 品川寺 (5min walk from Aomonoyokocho station on the Keikyu) Line

Getting there (By train from Shinagawa Station)
Take a train on the Keihin Kyuko Railway (=Keikyu) and get off at Kitashinagawa Station
