Life in Tokyo: Your Guide

Tokyo Metropolitan Government has compiled a guidebook for those starting a new life in Tokyo. The guidebook includes basic information on everyday living in Tokyo that will help you to get rid of confusion caused by cultural differences, unfamiliar local rules, and systems.

Guide to living in Tokyo available in multiple languages

The guidebook is available in 4 languages; Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese. The original text is written in Japanese which comes with Furigana phonetic ふりがな.

The guidebook comprises of 5 sections;
1.Learn about Tokyo
2.Life in Tokyo
3.Enjoy Tokyo
4.Inquiries and Consultation

The sections 3 Enjoy Tokyo contains information on attractions in Tokyo, useful not only for residents but also for visitors on a trip.

For those learning Japanese, referencing the Japanese version by comparing with the one written in another language, in English, for instance, will be a good way of learning Japanese words used in daily life. The composition of each language version is the same other than the section 2 of the original Japanese version which has been divided into two parts.

The guidebooks are downloadable
